As our Head of Customs and Trade Compliance, you will keep yourself informed of all relevant customs and trade compliance regulations. You will drive the governance across regions, define compliance and optimise targets and translate them into a framework for all departments, handling the flow of goods to support operational efficiency. How you’ll help us.
As integral part of the EMEA Operations team, you will be based out of our EMEA Headquarters, just outside of Amsterdam, Netherlands and reporting to the Director of Distribution & Business Transformation, as part of the role, you’ll:

• Lead and guide your customs and trade compliance operations team located in Netherlands and our European Distribution Center in Germany.
• Own and drive ASICS EMEA Customs and Trade Compliance strategy.
• Build the appropriate structure to manage, guide, and lead the organisation effectively and identify and motivate the right stakeholders to ensure a full understanding and training of customs know-how within the company.
• Lead and continuously optimize customs clearance processes, including classification (Binding Tarif Codes), customs valuation, documentation and licensing for imports and exports within EMEA.
• Develop a central ASICS EMEA Trade compliance roadmap, focussing on EPR (European Packaging Responsibility) regulations in EMEA.

More about you.

• A relevant qualification.
• Several years of sound professional experience in customs and import/export.
• Experience with Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certification and knowledge of the applicable requirements and formalities.
• Official and updated training certificate as a Customs specialist, certified by EU Customs Authorities.
• Knowledge of Tax law is a plus.
• Familiarity with EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) regulations within EMEA and European sustainable packaging act.
• Experience and knowledge of Customs law in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Norway, and Switzerland.
