EIT Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) is Europe’s foremost climate innovation initiative, entrusted by the European Commission to catalyse transformation through innovation. Headquartered in Amsterdam, with circa 160 people distributed all over the EU, EIT Climate-KIC leads and orchestrates innovation with a community of more than 400. Together we conduct activities in 39 countries. We partner with cities, regions, governments and communities with the highest climate action ambition; providing the framework and expert support to holistically manage the complexity of climate change and deliver accelerated climate action.
EIT Climate-KIC operates as a not-for-profit platform working through public-private partnership, wielding both public and private funding. We consist of 3 Legal entities: a Dutch BV Holding company (for profit) with 14 branches in European jurisdictions, providing grant management, innovation orchestration services, and impact investment advisory owned by a Dutch-based foundation with charity status – Climate-KIC International Foundation. Historically, we have been funded by our founder and core funder, the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), but we are currently transitioning to a multi-funder model.
ABOUT THE ROLE
EIT Climate-KIC is currently looking for a Communications Assistant to support our Communications team in developing and organising content for digital communications for our upcoming rebrand and our digital channels such as website, socials, and newsletter. This also includes work for our Entrepreneurship Services & Ventures team.
Additionally, the candidate will support the Digital Communications Manager in the development of the new EIT Climate-KIC website and onboarding new service providers, and the ESV Communications Manager with the ESV communications channels.
ABOUT YOU
To succeed in this role, you will be passionate and up to date on the latest trends in online communication channels. We are looking for a can-do, get-it-done-today action-oriented person who can help us manage efficiently and effectively our various communications tasks and projects.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Preferably has a BA in Communications, PR, Media, or Marketing
- 2-3 years of experience in Communications, PR, Media, or Marketing
- Familiarity with social media
- Bilingual or native level of English
- Interest in writing and creating content such as visuals, infographics, videos, quizzes, etc.
- Knowledge of WordPress and/or video would be an asset
- Desirable but not must-have: knowledge of climate change and sustainability topics and issues

- Passion for communications
- Collaborative and team focused
Location
Candidates must have the right to work in the location they’re applying for (I.e. not require visa sponsorship) prior to applying for the position.
