Software Engineer (x|f|m) Embedded Applications - Hybrid

For the Embedded Applications department we are looking for a Software Engineer (x|f|m) Embedded Applications for Sartorius Lab Instruments GmbH & Co. KG. In your position you will be responsible, together with a team of nine colleagues, for the development of products for our customers in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. The job is available part-time and full-time and is carried out remotely on a daily basis as well as on site at the campus in Goettingen.

• You will collect, analyse and define requirements for new, complex software functions
• You will be responsible for the design and development of sustainable software systems through the use of prototypes, clear software design and participation in design reviews
• You will write clear, easily maintainable and high-quality code to optimize performance and memory usage
• In this context, you will write comprehensive design, functional and quality assurance test documentation
• You will support the implementation of automated tests at unit and nightly regression framework level
• Validating the correct operation of software and hardware systems rounds off your area of responsibility
  
  

What will convince us

• You have a successfully completed Master's degree in computer science, or preferably a comparable professional qualification with corresponding further professional training and work experience
• Several years of experience in software development with demonstrably very good knowledge of C, C++ (from version 11), preferably also with Typescript or Python, experience with Rust would be a plus
• Proven expertise in the development of embedded Linux systems, in particular with embedded Linux build systems (ideally Yocto)
• We require an affinity for hardware-related programming, e.g. connecting sensors
• You are familiar with working in agile teams as well as with modern software engineering processes and methods and with the various phases of the software engineering life cycle Experience with SQL and database programming, as well as with communication protocols (MQTT and REST) and the development of graphical user interfaces, ideally with LVGL, emWin or QT is required
• Expertise in working with version control systems (Git) and DevOps practices
• Initial experience with bus systems is desirable, CAN would be an advantage here
• You are characterized by an independent and solution- and result-oriented way of working with strong analytical skills
• A high degree of initiative is one of your strengths
• Your profile is rounded off by a very good command of English, German is a plus
