We are looking for a Scientist in model-based purification development who is passionate about applying and advancing a world leading simulation software for the development of biopharmaceutical production processes to join our team in Karlsruhe, Germany. As a Scientist , you will be working together with the GoSilico team in Karlsruhe, Germany, and the Bioprocess R&D team in Uppsala Sweden. Specifically, you will develop and showcase new applications for model-based purification development for our international customers in the area of Biopharma research, development and manufacturing. This is a temporary position opened for 3 years.

We are looking for a Scientist in model-based purification development who is passionate about applying and advancing a world leading simulation software for the development of biopharmaceutical production processes to join our team in Karlsruhe, Germany. As a Scientist , you will be working together with the GoSilico team in Karlsruhe, Germany, and the Bioprocess R&D team in Uppsala Sweden. Specifically, you will develop and showcase new applications for model-based purification development for our international customers in the area of Biopharma research, development and manufacturing. This is a temporary position opened for 3 years.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Performing applied research in the field of bioprocess development
- Find accurate and performant mechanistic models for downstream purification processes, in particular for different modalities of chromatographic separation and various molecule formats
- Work with internal and external teams on development projects as well as conduct independent research
- Support GoSilico’s Customer Success team in scientific discussions
- Publication of results in scientific articles and presentation at scientific conferences in the field of biomanufacturing
- PhD degree in biotechnology, bioprocess/biomedical engineering, physics, applied mathematics or related sciences
- In depth knowledge of downstream process development, chromatography, resins and protein analytics
- A solid experience and understanding of mathematic models and physical/chemical fundamentals
- Strong presentation, scientific writing and communication skills
- Proficient in English (oral and writing)
- Mechanistic modeling of chromatography or related separation technologies
- Programming in C++, Python, Matlab or similar
