We are looking for an individual to join our Research and Development (R&D) team in our Wuppertal factory. Wuppertal belongs to the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) Region which has plants in Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic and Romania.

Your Main Responsibilities As Product Development Engineer

  • New development and optimization of cable designs in Germany
  • support conductor design activities within our region CEE
  • create cable designs based on standards and/or customer request
  • support design to cost and design to sustainability activities
  • support with the introduction of products into production and primary contact with production
  • Making decisions within the team in absence of the R&D Manager
  • Responsible for interns, bachelor and master students

The ideal candidate has

  • a passion for product development
  • a degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in either product development or process engineering
  • creative approaches to problem solving
  • knowledge/experience in metallurgy and/or working with polymers
  • a good communication skills in English and German
