Job Description

As Manufacturing Engineering Manager you are part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team in a growing high-tech company. You will lead our manufacturing team and provide cross-functional support.

• Lead the Manufacturing Engineering department with five teams focused on supporting and continuously improving Engineering aspects within Operations
• Support for released products, operations and processes as well as product returns for repair and warranty evaluation
• Support three manufacturing sites and NPI transition from Pilot gate into Production
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing and Quality Management departments to build integrated processes as well as further improvements
• Report on department improvements and performance to board
• Lead continuous improvement to maximize yield, capacity, and capability throughout the manufacturing sites
• Drive AI/I4.0 Initiatives
• Lead major restructuring and international relocation Projects
• Assure production productivity is kept on a high level supported by equipment efficiency development, preventative and predictive maintenance activities
  
  

Qualification

• M.Sc. degree in engineering, or other related discipline
• approx. 10 years of Manufacturing Engineering Management and/or Operations Management experience and leadership experience.
• Photonics education/experience is a plus strong self-starter with experience managing multiple projects with accountability and ownership.
• Goal setting and prioritization of resources
• Strong analytic and decision-making abilities. Goal setting and prioritization of resources. Able to influence others to move towards a common goal.
• Knowledge and understanding of design for manufacturability across a variety of manufacturing processes.
• Strong knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and lean manufacturing.
• Understanding of MRP planning systems and Bill of Material structures.
• Data-driven, but also result-driven. Extensive data analytics experience is a must, as it will guide our decision-making and drive our business forward—proficient skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Effective procedure development and documentation skills
• Experience with Calibration Lab Management is a plus
• Effective communication is key in our global team; a working-level knowledge of English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is a must.
