Finance Manager

The Role

The Finance Manager is responsible for reviewing accurate and timely management reporting for Teneo Global Financial Advisory. They will be responsible for the wider Teneo Financial Advisory Finance team and have day to day management of the Accounts Receivable and Payable functions across all entities. The Finance Manager will be supporting the senior finance team and will work alongside the other finance functions of Teneo.

Teneo’s global Financial Advisory business advises corporates, creditors and other financial stakeholders in situations of financial stress and distress. Integrating the disciplines of restructuring, financial advisory, management consulting, investor relations, strategic communications, government affairs, risk analysis and talent advisory, Teneo’s global team guides companies and their stakeholders through periods of uncertainty and stress. We help address the challenges a business faces, whether that is targeted performance improvement to financial restructuring, or delivering a route to recover value, our focus is delivering certainty from uncertainty.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

• Main Finance business interface providing financial information to Senior Management Team, Global Financial Advisory CFO and Global Counterparties in line with monthly internal and global reporting timelines
• Manage month end timetable and compliance
• Monthly Revenue recognition ensuring revenue is accrued at the point of delivery and revenue forecasts are current in line with business expectations for Global FA
• Support and oversee intercompany reconciliations ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately between all Teneo entities
• Manage, review and provide Debtor & Unbilled AR Analysis to Managing Directors and Controllers on a monthly basis
• Oversee month end reporting and ensuring accuracy of the P&Ls, identifying potential risks and issues are communicated to the Global CFO and Senior Management
• Review and signoff monthly balance sheet control accounts in line with the month-end procedures
• Report final local financials in line with month-end timelines
• Support the Controllers and Global CFO in preparation of forecasts, annual budgets and cash-flows
• Reviewing of monthly accounts across all Financial Advisory subsidiaries
• Review and submit quarterly VAT return in conjunction with rest of Germany for the German wide return
• Resolve queries arising from the senior team and wider Teneo finance teams
• Identify areas of ‘best practice’ throughout the wider Teneo business and ensure these are adopted or shared
• Supporting audit processes for Global FA and managing timelines
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory and statutory rules within the prescribed timetables
• Main bank interface ensuring accounts are consistently managed, review and approval of payments and expense runs

Team Management

• Manage and support all finance functions, (accounts receivable, payable and management accounts) alongside Controllers, providing direction, mentorship, training and performance development to support their career aspirations in line with the company review process
• Ensure the team continually improves their knowledge and understanding of financial control
• Review and monitor daily and monthly tasks providing further training for areas of development; ensuring task lists are up to date and adhered to
• Ensure accurate maintenance of all accounting systems and ledgers

• Proficient at Excel and other Microsoft office programs
• Good analytic skills with experience of reporting to senior team members
• Professional qualification
• Clear understanding the finance function with experience working as a Management Accountant
• Experience of NetSuite accounting software – preferred but not essential
