  • The role is a key entertainment engineering position responsible for the Technology architectural strategy of Entertainment Products & Services across countries to enable the delivery of revenue growth.
  • This individual will be the go to service & technology architecture contact for our Products organization for both in flight product developments and our overall technology strategy to support growth and customer proposition plans around the Entertainment portfolio.
  • This role is a key position in the Technology group that is responsible for the strategy, architecture, technology partner selection coordination and end-to-end technology and service design of Products & Services across all Go To Market teams and therefore should ensure synergies in our overall delivery and operating model by working closely with peers within Technology and across the wider Technology & Innovation group.
  • This role is pivotal in bringing together E2E products and services at the design activity level, including drawing in IT, Core, Access, Mobile & Technology groups such that we design a compelling and differentiated service across the entire customer journey, not just the core product functionality, with built-in quality, robustness and operational excellence instrumentation and operating model design.
  • This role must also focus on achieving wider Technology objectives around scale, cost efficiency, speed to market and quality.
  • The role is accountable for integration architecture & E2E capacity planning through their technology delivery and operations lifecycle ensuring timely delivery of technically ready products and services that can be taken to markets
  • Defines country integration architecture and local design
  • Lead complex service integrations architectures definition across Platforms, including IT domain & Network and local specifics
  • Facilitate vendor selection activities where end to end design identifies requirements for new capability
  • Support vendor selection for activities within technology domain, i.e. obsolescence
  • Provide area of expertise input into the Technology strategy team
  • Coordinate end to end EnTech roadmap, supported by domain experts and Tech
  • Maintain detailed Service Capacity Model and planning across service warranty period (12-18 months after service launch)
Preferred education/ qualifications:
  • MSc degree level in a relevant area (network-, communications- or consumer electronics engineering, …)
  • Fluent spoken and written English – ideally other European languages

Knowledge & Experience:
  • At least 7+ years of experience in the cable, satellite or telco industry
  • At least 7+ experience and knowledge of CATV technologies, STB and DTV Middleware platforms and Video Delivery technologies
  • Experience with working in an international and distributed team environment
  • An understanding of Entertainment B2C services from:
  • commercial & content side
  • product development process
  • deep understanding of entertainment technology & ecosystem, from CPE hardware and software to service platforms, user interfaces, Apps and media acquisition/management, processing, and distribution, and end-to-end content protection and security
  • wide understanding of IP and broadcast networking as well as data center infrastructure.
  • Able to drive architectural direction, and substantiate balanced recommendations that reflect a broader business perspective in addition to a technology perspective.
  • The ability to track and identify disruptive technologies and/or approaches that could drive developments in related network architectures.
  • An understanding of Entertainment related costs and economics and able to support unit economic analysis.
  • A strong overall understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator.
  • Technical knowledge and implementation experience around Video encoding/transcoding, CAS, DRM, Video back-ends, workflows, CMS, security services, Search & Recommendations, Application Services, CDN, Ad Insertion, broadband data, home networking, TV, VoD, PVR, Access technology, and Internet technology related.
  • Good overall knowledge/familiarity with telecommunications technologies, including: Ethernet, IP, broadcast, transmission and voice.
  • Good knowledge/familiarity with Audio and Video coding/decoding technologies
  • Good knowledge/familiarity with related IT systems (OSS & BSS), especially TR-069 and SNMP based CPE Management.
  • Soft skills required to appropriately achieve consensus on technology roadmap.
