What does the job function entail?

Our marketing team was established less than two years ago, and it's still in the process of maturing and becoming a well-oiled machine. What we need right now is a skilled builder to help us elevate our marketing strategies and outreach to customers.

Navigating Our Complex Industry:
The healthtech industry is known for its complexity, with constant changes taking place. Understanding how our products align with market needs requires delving deep into highly technical subjects. Simultaneously, it's important to note that in healthcare, a short-term approach spans three years. Thus, we're seeking an individual who can strike a balance between moving swiftly and exercising patience.

Brand Recognition:
We've cultivated strong relationships within the development community that utilizes the FHIR standard. Additionally, we have a clear understanding of our target market and what messages we want to convey to them. However, the decision makers are not always developers. Connecting with this audience is a significant challenge, particularly in the US, which is a new market for us. While they are familiar with FHIR, our brand, Firely, remains relatively unknown. We need someone who can devise strategies to secure a position among the vendors our audience considers when seeking solutions.

What does success look like in this role?
Defining success in this role is a journey of continuous discovery. In the initial six months, success isn't primarily about generating leads, but rather focuses on achieving concrete milestones, adapting based on what we learn, and persevering through challenges. It's important to acknowledge that this role can be demanding as we work to reach our audience. It's about celebrating the small victories along the way.

In the longer term, around three years from now, success will be characterized by the quality of leads generated and the ability to assist our sales team in closing deals. An optimistic and resilient mindset will be invaluable in achieving these objectives.

This is what you will be doing:
As an online campaign marketer, you play a crucial role in achieving Firely’s ambitious growth targets. You create and manage our campaigns – both ad hoc and always on – that guide our main buyer personas through their buying journey. You know how to attract them and how to keep interacting with them, until the moment that they are interested in having a conversation with our sales colleagues.

  • Creating campaigns to attract and convert new prospects. Based on a thorough understanding of customer insights, you decide on the messaging, assets (both products and content), and media channels needed to achieve our goals.
  • Online advertising. You manage our Google Ads and LinkedIn Advertisement accounts. You continuously optimize our campaigns, keep track of the budget and decide on any new channels that should be added (or removed).
  • Website optimization. You are in charge of our website since this is one of the main assets in all our (online) campaigns. You monitor website behavior, you optimize conversion and you adjust information on the website when needed.
  • Nurture campaigns. You build and manage our nurture campaigns in Hubspot with the key purpose of improving engagement and enriching our database. You will use leadscoring as an instrument to warm up prospects and hand them over to sales when they are hot enough for follow-up.

  • Collaborate with sales & product. Although we believe that you will have some pretty awesome ideas yourself, you will collaborate a lot with our product owners and sales professionals to get the latest customer insights and understand the crucial details of the solutions we offer.
  • Sparring partner for the Head of Marketing. Whether it is an operational complicated issue or a strategic dilemma, our Head of Marketing loves to have a second marketing brain available to think along.

Firely’s marketing team is a small and ambitious team with a broad – typical B2B – marketing responsibility that ranges from inspiring the world with educational health technology copy to generating leads for our sales team. Our target audience consists of HealthTech companies, healthcare providers, and (national) health organizations. With activities like lead generation, online marketing, website optimization, product marketing, and much more, we try to inspire our target audience every day to be in touch with us and discuss how Firely can help them

Requirements for the job:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with creating campaigns (briefing and execution)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with managing online advertising accounts
  • Familiar with all aspects of B2B marketing (buyer personas, buying journeys, content marketing, lead generation, sales collaboration, marketing automation etc.)
  • Analytical skills to easily work with key metrics and dashboards

  • Strategic enough to overthink a proper plan, pragmatic enough to experiment and just do it.
  • Proactively explores new initiatives to achieve the marketing goals.
  • Familiar with Hubspot, WordPress, the Google Suite, LinkedIn Advertising, Hotjar.
  • Background in tech or software industry. Knowledge of the healthcare sector is a big plus
  • Fluent in English, spoken as well as written

  • Located close enough to Amsterdam to visit the Firely office at least once a week.

Structured and Manageable Tasks:
Your day begins by checking our marketing boards and Jira board. We operate in sprints, making the workload highly manageable. You'll find a diverse range of tasks, such as creating landing pages for nurture campaigns, designing e-books in collaboration with our design team, and optimizing online US campaigns.

Hands-On and Tactical:
When it comes to campaign optimization, you won't just analyze data and delegate tasks. You'll be hands-on, creating images or writing copy when needed. We value tactical expertise and the ability to make things happen.

Collaboration and Communication:
Expect regular check-ins with the marketing team to share progress during the sprint. You'll also have opportunities to engage with internal and external stakeholders. Your daily interactions with Martine, our Head of Marketing, will be instrumental as you both collaborate on strategic discussions.

Team Dynamics:
Firely fosters an open and flat organizational culture. There's no rigid hierarchy, and your input matters. Your role involves working closely with various teams, particularly product owners, to create compelling web content that resonates with our audience.
